A Rusmarian born in a mountain village north of Lake Kosak, Yurgi encountered the Ravens before most Vidorans knew they existed. They overran his village and conscripted him into their forces before the massacre at Neverharbor. Yurgi spent several years in northern Vidora supporting the Raven campaigns there.
Chamaliak recognized Yurgi’s intelligence and talent for strategic deception, eventually appointing him as his personal liaison to Saffron within the exile camps. Yurgi built an effective cover by becoming a dependable and productive member of the refugee community. His contributions earned him acceptance among the exiles and gave him legitimate reasons to move throughout the camp.
Ramoz never trusted him. Yurgi’s frequent contact with Saffron drew Ramoz’s attention, though productive service and a credible history of Raven victimization left him without enough evidence to act. Yurgi’s strongest protection is that both halves of his identity are true: the Ravens destroyed his home and conscripted him, but Chamaliak also cultivated his abilities and gave him influence.
