The destruction of Neverharbor leaves Elaren profoundly broken, stripping away the comfortable life and sense of belonging that once defined her. The woman who had been surrounded by friends, routine, and familiar purpose gradually gives way to someone hollowed out by grief, guilt, and the unbearable memory of what she witnessed upon returning to the village she failed to save.
Though she survives physically, much of her former self struggles to survive with her. The horror the Ravens left behind follows her relentlessly, reshaping her thoughts, her speech, and the way others perceive her. She wanders from village to village carrying warnings that many dismiss as madness or grief-driven obsession. Some view her as unstable. Elaren becomes consumed by the need to make others understand what submission truly costs before they repeat Neverharbor’s fate. The memory of the dead continues to drive her forward long after exhaustion, fear, and despair should have stopped her.
