Hanrim had been running a small boat on the river at Draventh since he was old enough to steer. He learned at an early age that he could never compete with the larger vessels traveling between Draventh and Solading. He chose instead to earn his living discreetly moving people and goods from one side of Draventh to the other or across the river.
He took his fee up front. After that, he asked no questions, and his clients told him no lies. His business arrangements worked to everyone’s advantage. Even clients with competing interests looked the other way, knowing they were better off having his services available than throwing his body into the river and scuttling his boat. The Draventh Information Guild was one of Hanrim’s biggest customers.
