Velstren is a Rusmarian village situated in the northern foothills of the Central Mountains east of Lake Mahyim along the Mahyim–Nolading trade route. If a traveler did not stumble upon Velstren after a long journey through the Central Mountains, it is unlikely they would ever have heard of it. Velstren is loosely governed by the quiet isolationism of Rusmaria and the rugged individualism of neighboring Ognenstrof. It does not turn away strangers who bring resources, but neither does it advertise its existence.
