Nolading

Nolading sits on the Probnipex River along the border between Rusmaria and Yisea. It marks the last inland point where ocean-going ships can navigate. It is also the first place where travelers can cross the river. These conditions create a natural convergence of routes. As a result, this Free Trade Zone plays an essential role in both travel and trade.

Nolading is the only Free Trade Zone connected to a mountain interior route. This passage runs through the heart of the Central Mountains. It provides one of the few viable crossings through the Cendomvita’s rugged interior. Caravans use this route sparingly, but its value is unquestioned during times of disruption or conflict.

Yisea and Rusmaria remain sparsely populated regions. Because of this, Nolading is the smallest and least populated of the Free Trade Zones. Its position at the crossroads still ensures a constant flow of movement. Merchants, couriers, and travelers pass through the zone year-round. Inns, warehouses, and ferries support this traffic. This steady movement sustains Nolading’s importance in the northern economy.

Like other trade zones, Nolading maintains a well-trained military that also serves as its police force. Discipline and neutrality define this presence. Neither neighboring kingdom holds sufficient strength to seize the zone alone. For this reason, Nolading functions as a buffer between Rusmaria and Yisea. Stability here protects trade, limits conflict, and preserves access across the northern interior.
