Quen

Pronunciation: KWEN
Gender: Male
Home: Continent: ThalevirCendomvita

Quen is more merchant than pirate. He handles trade deals, bribes, and inventory with a merchant’s patience and a cutthroat’s instincts. While others measure success by bloodshed or reputation, Quen measures it by what moves, what arrives, and what never goes missing. He oversees Lazrik’s resources at their base in the Maghrabi Sound, where every crate, coin, and favor is counted.

Quen’s authority comes from results. Ships leave when they are meant to leave. Supplies are tracked from dock to hold to shore. Payments arrive on time. When they do not, Quen notices. He remembers names, numbers, and patterns. He does not forget debts, delays, or insults. His systems are strict, efficient, and unforgiving, leaving little room for error and none for excuses.

He does not lead with charm or threat. He does not need to. Those under his control learn quickly that crossing Quen carries consequences. A man might fall ill after dinner. Another might wake to find his bed no longer safe. Some are found later, placed where the message is clear. Quen does not explain himself, and he does not repeat lessons.

Among the crews, fear follows him more closely than loyalty. He settles disputes without raising his voice and rarely needs to raise his hand. Violence, to Quen, is a tool, not a passion. It is applied only when necessary and never without purpose. In the chaos of piracy, Quen provides order. Those who depend on it learn too late what that order costs.
