Teaser
Phine and Elgyon reunite in the wilderness of Eslading, among the few who have witnessed the Ravens’ work firsthand. Accompanied by Grimm and Captain Belle, they carry that knowledge home, expecting urgency and finding routine. Markets remain open. Trade continues. Most people know the Ravens only through rumor, distance, and secondhand accounts. What they have seen feels undeniable. What awaits them is disbelief.
Their warning arrives before a council already struggling to separate truth from interpretation. Testimony becomes argument. Confidence replaces certainty. Personal loyalties compete with public responsibilities. As accusations spread and trust erodes, betrayal moves from private compromise into public action. What begins as disagreement becomes fracture. What seems temporary becomes irreversible.
As the old path collapses, those who remain must choose another. Hile, Ashira, Maribel, Grimm, Phine, Elgyon, and countless others face a future stripped of certainty. Homes are lost. Alliances fail. Truth no longer guarantees understanding. Yet surrender offers no refuge.
Broken Path, Unbroken Will follows the difficult road from warning to collapse and from collapse to exodus. It is the story of those who continue forward when the path they trusted no longer exists, discovering that resolve can endure even when certainty, security, and home cannot.
